TUTOR PROFILE

Samuel Rama Surya An Indonesian, born in Sumatera at 1970. “I was a photojournalist in the beginning of my career in photography from 1991-1998. In mid-1998, I moved from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. It’s give me an opportunity connected with vary of artists that influence my work in the future. In 2000, Museum der Kulturen Basel Switzerland offered me a photographic book project named “Bali: Living In Two Worlds”. It caused me move to Bali Island and I am living there untill present. The tolerance environment of Balinese Culture gives artists more freedom for self expressions. In 2001, I started producing self portrait works. Later in Bandung at 2011, I started entering some contemporary art exhibitions that drived me to a new understanding in the visual art discourse.”
